As we approach the end of another year, we wanted to share our joint reflections on 2024.
It’s been an eventful year at Oriel Partners—one of our best yet! Thank you for joining us along the way, whether as a trusted client, a promising candidate or a cherished business partner, we really appreciate your support.
A Look Back at 2024
This year, we celebrated a major milestone—our 6th anniversary at Oriel Partners. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come since starting with just the two of us back in 2018!
Today, we’re a team of nine, and every person brings their passion and energy to make Oriel Partners what it is.
We’ve grown in ways we’re incredibly proud of, from launching helpful resources like our salary survey and hiring guides to sharing our experiences and industry insights on our PA Podcast and blog.
Being shortlisted for three Recruiter Awards this year was a really special moment for us, the company as a whole and the team we have built.
We’re also increasingly starting to work outside of The UK, with new roles in Hong Kong, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Stay tuned for more about this in the new year.
Finally, another first for us has been investing heavily into our temp division, an area we are extremely excited to continue to watch grow in 2025.
There’s no better feeling than seeing our clients find that ideal hire or watching candidates take exciting steps forward in their careers. Knowing we’ve played a role in your successes is why we do what we do.
Observations on the UK Recruitment Industry in 2024
For many, 2024 has been a tough year, and recruitment has been no exception. In particular, London’s hiring market has faced big challenges due to ongoing economic uncertainty. We've seen employers take a more cautious approach with slower decision-making, extended hiring processes and more selective assessments.
In our eyes, this shifting landscape has underscored the importance of flexibility and resilience. Our team has been right there with you—adjusting, learning, and finding new ways to navigate this evolving market together. We know that placing people is about more than just finding someone with the right skillset; it’s about understanding what each candidate and company needs to thrive, especially in uncertain times.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Looking to 2025, we’re feeling optimistic about what’s on the horizon for recruitment. As the market stabilises, demand for top talent will likely increase, particularly in specialised roles where skills are in high demand. Our observation is that companies are becoming increasingly invested in offering wellness and career growth programmes, as well as benefits that genuinely support employee well-being.
This is particularly relevant for London’s fast-moving market, where retaining skilled talent will continue to be a top priority for businesses navigating a competitive landscape. As we work with you in 2025, our focus will remain on understanding what truly matters to you and supporting your goals with the same commitment to quality, care, and insight. You can count on us.
